LAPAROSCOPIC PELVIC FLOOR REPAIR

Recent advances in laparoscopic surgery have helped surgeons repair many pelvic floor defects, which are often difficult to reach by the vaginal method. Examples include prolapse of the vaginal vault, enterocoele and paravaginal cystocoele.

How is Laparoscopic Repair Performed?

In the laparoscopic procedure, the surgeons insert a tiny telescope (laparoscopy) through a small incision at the umbilicus. This is attached to a camera-television setup, giving the

Tension-Free Vaginal Tape for Stress Incontinence in Women

Stress incontinence in women can cause frequent involuntary release of urine during activities that put pressure on your bladder, such as coughing or laughing. The tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) procedure is designed to provide support for a sagging urethra so that when you cough or move vigorously or suddenly, the urethra will remain closed with no accidental release of urine.

In TVT surgery, a mesh tape is placed under your urethra

Laser Assisted Hatching

The procedure is based on the fact that an alteration in zona pellucida (outer covering of egg) either by drilling a hole through it or by thinning it, will promote hatching or implantation of embryos that are otherwise unable to escape intact from the zona pellucida.

What is OVARIAN CYST ?

Ovaries are a woman's reproductive organs that make female hormones and release an egg from a follicle (a small fluid-filled sac) each month. The follicle is usually about 2-3 cm when measured across (diameter) but sometimes can be larger.

An ovarian cyst is a larger fluid-filled sac (more than 3 cm in diameter) that develops on or in an ovary. A 2 cyst can vary in size from a few centimetres to the size of a large melon. Ovarian cysts may be thin-walled and only contain

Fibroid Treatment

Women who have no symptoms from their fibroids do not need to have treatment. Women with significant symptoms may try medical or surgical treatment. The best treatment depends on which symptom(s) is most bothersome. The size, number and locations of fibroids and your desire for future pregnancy also factor into most treatment decisions.

Medical Fibroid Treatment

Most medical treatments use a medicine to reduce the heavy menstrual bleeding, which is common in women with fibroids.

SILS (Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery laparoendoscopic single site surgery- LESS or scarless surgery)

Rather than the traditional four to five small incisions, a single small incision at the umbilicus is used as the entry point. All surgical instruments are placed through this small incision and the surgery is performed. Post surgery with healing, the scar almost gets buried in the umbilicus leaving behind no scar, hence it is called as Scar-less Surgery.

In Laparoscopic surgery we make 3-4 small incisions for trocars through which we introduce operative instruments. Through the naval port (umbilicus) we put 10 mm & 5 mm laparoscopy attached to camera systems and monitor, now the surgeon can see the whole abdomen and pelvis on the screen. All the organs are seen magnified and precisely than in open surgery or Direct Visualization.
